About Us
Aaron’s Place Inc. originated from the food ministry of Living Waters Assembly, and as the ministry expanded, we recognized the opportunity to provide additional services to the community. As a non-profit organization, our primary focus is to address the needs of individuals facing food insecurity and related challenges in the area.
To date, we have distributed over two million pounds of food and assist more than 900 families every month. We understand that food insecurity often accompanies other struggles, which is why we offer a range of support services designed to help families achieve long-term stability.
Our food distribution locations include the Community Civic League in Federalsburg, Living Waters Assembly at 9058 Double Hills Road, the Judy Center in Federalsburg, MD, mobile distributions at Iglesia de Dios El Buen Camino in Marydel, MD, and the Preston Lions Club in Preston, MD.
Our main facility is located at 100 N 6th St in Denton, MD.
In addition to food services, we provide General Educational Development (GED) classes for adults, and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for both children and adults. We also focus on improving health outcomes with programs like the Diabetes Prevention Program and the Diabetes and Chronic Health Program, which address social determinants of health and health disparities. We offer computer literacy training to help individuals gain essential skills for personal and professional growth.
At Aaron’s Place, we take a comprehensive, one-stop approach to meeting both immediate and long-term needs.
Our services include rental and utility assistance, clothing and furniture support, financial literacy training, emergency food aid, senior feeding programs, arts and music classes, “Mommy and Me” sessions, senior assistance, and a community garden. We also collaborate with human service agencies and immigration attorneys when needed.
Our soup kitchen is the only one of its kind in Caroline County, MD, and we partner with the University of Maryland Extension to offer healthy eating classes and nutrition education, as well as a youth program for boys and girls.
Our mission is to meet the basic human needs of underserved individuals, with a commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect. We aim to address the root causes of poverty, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or religious beliefs.
